Glasgow newborn photographer - Why book a newborn photography session?

So, you're 20 weeks pregnant and just had your scan!! Wow fab news, bet you're absolutely glowing right now! Half way there now and so excited to meet your little one! So now you can start (or continue as the case may be!) getting organised for the arrival of your new little housemate. You'll want to start thinking about where the baby will sleep.....moses basket? In your bed? In one of those fancy pants drop sided thingies that lines up with your bed?

You'll also want to think about the car seat and the pram (if your needing suggestions I had the bugaboo chameleon and the stokke xplory for my last and rate both very highly.....the stokke especially!!! But thats a topic for another day haha)

You'll also be thinking about what you'll do when you go back to work.....nursery....nanny.....childminder....or what about grandparents? And you'll maybe even be thinking about how your going to feed your baby....breast or bottle??

Now these are all big decisions your having to make!! And you have plenty of time to make them right? Well if you're anything like me then you're wrong!! Those next 20 weeks are going to fly past and before you know it you'll be bringing home your new baby.

So you've got your baby home but now what?? Daddy's off work and you both become zombies trying to fit in all the visitors as well as keeping up with all that extra washing that you cannot believe one tiny wee human can produce, as well as sterilising the bottles or the breast pump or even just sitting with a baby attached to your boob the whole day long!!!!!!!!!! Oh and lets not forget all that sleep you thought you'd get when the baby sleeps! (Yeah you'll be too busy running around cleaning up after the little one that you no longer know what sleep is!!)

So before you know it baby is 2 weeks old and daddy is going back to work. You're on your own with the baby now so maybe you can manage out the house for an hour to meet one of the mums you met at your antenatal class. She whips out her phone and starts to show you the sneak peek her photographer has shown her from her newborn session. Isn't it just adorable!! Oh wait you didn't book one? So you scrabble about at the last minute trying to find someone who can squeeze you in but your baby is already 14 days old and no one has space for at least another 3 weeks!!! By that point baby is too "old" for a newborn session. You're gutted!! You won't have those precious photos of the little fur your baby was born with on his shoulders. Or his full head of hair thats already starting to fall out. He's started to stretch out now too so you're not going to have those sleepy curly gorgeous poses.

So what you going to do???

Well lets go back.....remember your still only 20 weeks pregnant! You're still deciding on your pram and car seat! So lets make the decision to choose your newborn photographer too! This is the perfect time to book your session before baby comes and takes over.

So what are you waiting for??? Get in touch today and we'll mark your due date in the diary.

I absolutely HATE having to turn away new babies and their families but some months I have my quota of babies and i simply cannot accommodate any more!! (As you can imagine those darned babies never come when we want them to so i have to be pretty flexible about when i can get babies into the studio for their session. Now I almost never stick to the 2 week guide either - in fact sometimes i actively encourage parents to come along on week 3! But i will always always say please book before your baby is here as i simply cannot guarantee that i can fit you in!!

But for now, go get those feet up watch my wee video about why you should book a session and enjoy the peace and quiet.....after all, you're not going to know what peace and quiet is soon enough!!
